Dietmar Dürk
began his apprenticeship in 1977 working for Gebr. Alexander, and graduated in 1980 within the top percentile in the theoretical and the practical exams. He earned his Master Craftsmanship Diploma in brass instrument making, again with top marks, from the Handwerkskammer Institute in Koblenz in 1987.
As recognition for high scores in his theoretical and practical exams, Mr. Dürk became the recipient of a government financial award for achievement from the Stiftung für Begabtenförderung (Foundation for the Support of Talent).
This was the ideal catalyst for creating his own business, Musikhaus und Instrumentenbau Dürk, in the same year. In 1999, Mr. Dürk expanded his business to build horns. Today, in a relatively short period of time, DürkHorns, led by Dietmar Dürk, has become a fast growing trusted name among horn players worldwide. Mr. Dürk is a family man, living with his wife and daughter. He is a pillar in his community, as a businessman, and dear friend to many.
